We are looking for children and young people to design a piece of art – this can be a drawing, painting, a model, photo, poem and more – that describes their relationship with their independent visitor. It’s completely up to the children and young people to decide what they want their piece of art to show, this can include: how your IV makes your feel; things you like to do together; a time when you’re IV really impacted on your life or just what an IV means to you. We will be displaying ALL entries on our new website and will be displaying these at our celebration event in October. At the event, the network will be looking at the designs and the winners will be announced at the celebration event. You do not have to come to the event to win! Winners will be chosen by the network at the event!
Please send your entries to the National Independent Visitors Network Project Team at: IVnetwork@barnardos.org.uk or rebecca.jordan2@barnardos.org.uk, or send it through the post to: Rebecca Jordan, National Independent Visitors Network Project, Barnardo’s Head Office, Tanner Lane, Barkingside, Ilford, Essex, IG6 1QG
Please include name (first name), age, local authority, IV Coordinators contact details (email and address), as well as how long you have been matched with your IV.
All entries will be displayed at the event, so please send entries to the NIVN team at least 1 week before the event (even earlier would be great), so that we arrange how these will be brought to the event. If the child or young person can not attend the event, they will be informed following the event day via letter. This will be sent to the IV Coordinators office, to be passed on to the child or young person. This will include the prize. All entries will receive a written recognition for entering the competition and will have their designed displayed on the NIVN projects new website, which is due to be launched.
Closing date for entries: 11 October 2019
