To celebrate the coming of Autumn and create a resource with low cost, outdoor activity for children, young people and their IVs, NIVN Team produced an Autumn Wildlife Challenge pack.

Activities include squirrel spotting, leaf art, mushroom bingo and den building!  To do the activity the IV or child/young person would need to bring along:

  • Print off the Challenge Activity Pack
  • Print copies of the mushroom and tree poster (for these activities)
  • Bring a notepad, pencil crayon and pen

The activity was really very popular.  One Independent Visitor shared:

“ My young person and I went to a National Trust property to complete the Autumn challenge. We had a great time looking at all the different leaves. We used the poster to identify lots of different leaves and tried to make some art but the wind kept blowing our leaves away! So instead, we wrote our initials in some of the leaves we had identified. It was a really fun activity and not something I would have had the confidence to know how to lead either and gave us lots to talk about.”
